Keyneton

Keyneton is a small rural town located in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia, approximately 80 kilometers northeast of Adelaide. The town was established in the 1840s and named after Joseph Keynes, an early settler in the area. Keyneton is known for its picturesque landscapes, featuring rolling hills and vineyards. The region’s Mediterranean climate is ideal for wine production, and several wineries operate in the vicinity. Agriculture, particularly sheep farming, has also been historically important to the local economy. The town has a small but close-knit community, with a population of around 200 people. Notable landmarks include the Keyneton Soldiers’ Memorial Hall and the historic Keyneton Primary School building.
