Wedderburn

Wedderburn is a small rural town in central Victoria, Australia, located about 214 kilometres northwest of Melbourne. It has a population of approximately 700 people. The town was established during the Victorian gold rush in the 1850s and has retained much of its historical charm. Agriculture, particularly sheep farming and cropping, is the main industry in the area. Wedderburn is known for its gold prospecting opportunities, with some visitors still trying their luck at finding nuggets. The town hosts an annual Detector Jamboree, celebrating its gold mining heritage. Wedderburn also features a local museum and several historic buildings.
