The famous palm trees of Seppeltsfield Road in South Australia’s Barossa Valley create an iconic and picturesque avenue leading to Seppeltsfield Winery.

Planted in the 1930s, these majestic Canary Island date palms line both sides of the road for about 5 kilometres, forming a grand entrance to the historic estate.

Seppeltsfield Winery, established in 1851 by Joseph Seppelt, is renowned for its century-old tawny port, released each year on the 100th anniversary of its barreling. The Seppelt family mausoleum, located on a hill overlooking the winery, is a striking landmark. Built in 1927, this neo-classical style tomb houses the remains of several generations of the Seppelt family.

The combination of the palm-lined road and the mausoleum creates a unique and memorable landscape, blending natural beauty with historical significance. This scenic drive has become a must-see attraction for visitors to the Barossa Valley wine region.
