Last weekend, while in Burra for the day, my two King Charles Cavaliers and I embarked on an adventure that left tails wagging and tongues lolling. As we stepped through the double gates, my pups’ eyes lit up with excitement. Dotted throughout are large pine trees that provide not only shade but also endless opportunities for curious noses to explore.

Despite the dusty conditions due to a dry winter, the park was impressively clean and well-maintained.

My Cavaliers couldn’t get enough of the place! They darted from tree to tree, tails wagging furiously as they picked up the scents of their canine counterparts.

The trees and pine needles kept them engaged, and the ample space meant they could run to their hearts’ content. As the sun climbed higher, we appreciated the shaded areas and the on-site water facilities to keep our pups hydrated and cool.

In the end, it was hard to tell who had more fun – the dogs or me! I enjoyed the chance to chat with a local and they were glad to be out of the car for half an hour.
