The MacDonnell Ranges are a spectacular mountain chain in central Australia. They stretch for about 644 kilometres across the Northern Territory, near the famous town of Alice Springs. These ancient mountains are over 300 million years old and full of amazing sights. The ranges have deep gorges, towering cliffs, and beautiful waterholes. They’re home to unique plants and animals that have adapted to the harsh desert climate. Aboriginal people have lived in and cared for this land for thousands of years.
